Arusha National Park, which is mostly covered in open savanna, rainforest, acacia woodlands, and alpine vegetation, is located at the foot of Mount Meru. The “Serengeti Ndogo,” or Small Serengeti, is a national park where up to 500 African buffaloes inhabit the open plains. The Jekukumia River, which flows through the west of the park, and the alkaline Lake Momella are the park’s two water sources.

The park is one of the best places to visit each year. The distances are 35 kilometres to Kilimanjaro International Airport, 25 kilometres to Arusha Town, and 58 kilometres to Moshi Town.

There is a wide variety of birds in this park, including rare species like the bar-tailed trogon and Narina trogon that are only found in Tanzania. Are there lions in Arusha National Park? No, and as a result, the park is ideal for walking safaris, in which a ranger with a gun accompanies you. You will likely have close encounters with magnificent animals like waterbucks, buffaloes, and zebras. The largest giraffe population in the world is believed to reside in Arusha National Park.

The greatest way to experience Arusha National Park is by going on a cycling safari tour, which should be booked through Wonder Wheels Tours and Travel Company, a respectable safari operator in Arusha. Arusha National Park Safari Horse Riding is another activity offered inside the park; it costs about $190 and lasts for about five hours. The park can be combined with a safari itinerary that includes stops at Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Chemka Hot Spring.

Is it allowed to camp in Arusha Park? There are a few designated public campgrounds in the park, such as the Itikoni Seasonal campsite and Ngongongare Spring Nasula. The Tanzania National Park Authority also offers first-rate lodging inside the park under the name Rest Houses. The three rooms in these houses each have two beds; Cooking facilities and kitchen utensils are provided by the park, but reservations are essential. There are also privately owned lodges, such as Momella Wildlife Lodges and Hatari Lodge.
